The Air Cadet Program is operated through a unique partnership between the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL). At the local level, the Air Cadet League is represented by the members of the Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC). The SSC is an all-volunteer committee composed of parents, guardians, alumni and other members of the squadron community, dedicated to supporting the success of 892 Snowy Owl Squadron. The SSC manages the fundraising and financial management of the local squadron program, makes arrangements for suitable facilities for cadet training, and provides support to optional activities and training not otherwise provided for by DND.
